About Lowell

Founder, operator, investor.

Lowell Sharron starts businesses, builds the systems and teams that make them run, and — once each one is on a durable growth path — hands the day-to-day to the team he built so he can go build the next one.

He began his career at Pacific Telesis, starting in sales and leaving as an Area Vice President. At Swat*Fame, a Los Angeles children's apparel manufacturer, he led national sales for a decade, personally generating more than $35 million a year and helping take a new product line from launch to $44 million in four years.

In 2001 he founded 6 Degrees Clothing, a juniors apparel company he owned outright and ran for thirteen years, growing wholesale distribution to more than 20 key accounts and roughly 2,000 retail doors nationwide at 15–20% annual growth.

From 2014 to 2025 he co-founded a group of Los Angeles restaurant concepts — HiHo Cheeseburger, UOVO Pasta, Matū and Willie Mae's — along with the First Light Steak Club. For each, he built the operating foundation: systems, menu, pricing, costing, training, operations and financials, and the multi-unit playbook that let HiHo and UOVO grow across the city. Those holdings sit under Foods That Influence.

With the restaurant group established and growing under its operating teams, his next build is Privy, a private AI search tool he is building from zero — with no prior engineering background, using a team of AI coding agents run under a written operating model. Privy is a work in progress, not yet a business, and the same pattern as every chapter before it: pick the problem, build the operating system around it, then scale.

He holds a B.A. in Political Science and Economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and splits his time between Malibu, California and Honolulu, Hawaii.

Foods That Influence

Foods That Influence (FTI) is the L. Scott Enterprises subsidiary that holds its restaurant shareholdings. Lowell co-founded each of the concepts below with Jerry Greenberg and a group of partners; FTI remains a shareholder in each. What they share is a single idea — that a familiar dish deserves a far better ingredient than it usually gets.

Burgers · Los Angeles

HiHo Cheeseburger

The only burger restaurant that exclusively serves 100% grass-fed Wagyu beef. HiHo's premise is that the American cheeseburger deserves better beef, and the one beef that fits the bill is grass-fed Wagyu from First Light Farms in New Zealand — Certified Humane, raised without antibiotics or hormones.

Pasta · Los Angeles & New York

UOVO Pasta

The one place outside Italy that serves fresh pasta hand-made in Italy. UOVO's founders set up their own kitchen in Bologna, led by the head chef and sfoglina of a beloved local restaurant, where the pasta is sheeted and cut by hand every day with Italian eggs and flour, then flown to the restaurants.

Steak · Los Angeles

Matū

Steak restaurants serving exclusively 100% grass-fed Wagyu from First Light Farms. Matū grew out of a twenty-year search for better beef — grass-fed, humanely and regeneratively raised — and a belief that great steak should also be good for you. Matū Kai in Brentwood and Cheesesteaks by Matū followed the Beverly Hills original.

Lowell also co-founded the First Light Steak Club, which ships First Light's highest-marbled grass-fed Wagyu cuts to members along with the cooking method he and Jerry Greenberg refined over fifteen years. HiHo, UOVO, Matū and First Light are trademarks of their respective companies.

In the works

Privy — a build in progress

Your life, searchable. Privately.

Privy reads your own records on your own hardware — decades of email, texts, contracts, photos and recordings — and answers questions in plain English, showing the documents behind every answer. Nothing is uploaded. Lowell is building it for his own archive first.

Privy is not a company and may never be one. It is a 2026 project — planned, written, tested and shipped by a team of AI coding agents working under an operating model Lowell authored — and the clearest example of how he now works. Early access is by request.
